Question:

Women working in Abu Dhabi?

Thank you for reading my long list of questions! My husband and I might be moving to Abu Dhabi in the coming months. He has a job offer with his current company. I will have to find new employment as my company can not transfer my position to our office there. I have been researching job openings online and it seems that many positions are for men only. How difficult will it be for me to find employment? I have a BBA in Marketing & Management from an American university. I only have 2 years of work experience, but it is with a global company working in a multicultural environment. My experience is in the Oil & Gas sector but I would be willing to adapt to other industries. Is the fact that I am a western female going to affect my career possibilities? Also, my husband will be working in Saudi Arabia and living in Abu Dhabi at the weekends only. Are there any social activities for married women to keep me entertained while my husband is away? I do not want to spend my free time at clubs and bars (I don’t think my husband would appreciate that very much!). I have resigned myself to the fact that I may have to take a pay cut to find employment since I suspect there are wage disparities between the genders. Are my notions unfounded? Are there many women working or will I find myself in a male dominated work force? What are the office dynamics like? Will I be forced to make friends with the other women in the office regardless of personality? Is it acceptable to have lunch with male colleagues? I am truly clueless to the cultural differences and I would like to know what to expect. Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated!

second there is no difference between woman and men at work you can find a good job, it all depends on how good you are and how much you gained experience  from your previous job and your chances are high.

Women  in the UAE have equal opportunities and we have lots of UAE women( Emirates) leaders in Abu Dhabi Governments Departments , and there are similar opportunities to expatriates in the privet sector .
