I already know that many, many would, and are in the military

But I don’t know if feminist woman would, I think they would make excuses....

Would any feminist women say different?

  1. Is there a large body of people that make up a group that has rights and legislation just for them above and beyond the others for any reason?

That is the group that shall go to war to protect THEIR freedoms.

What interest do the others have in fighting to protect the freedom of other people?

edit - Mmm thumbs :) lol

Why should I fight when some of those in my country that are responsible for legislation have been found guilty for employing unfairly based on sexism and desire to close all womens prisons and convert them to men only ones?

What freedoms exactly would I lay my life down for there?

Give me something worth dying for, then I will fight for it.

  2. I would if I honestly felt I was DEFENDING it and freedom; I would not for what's going on now.

  3. Is a Navy Vetern....

  4. I know of a few feminists who have been in the military. I'm a pacifist and I have the physicality of a chipmunk, so I wouldn't be one of them.

  5. totally i would go before "life or death" but still wouldnt volenteer if they didn't really really need it

  6. I am a stay at home mom of three and FAR from being a feminist. I would defend my country to the death if necessary because that would be for my children's benefit. I own a 9mm glock and have a concealed weapons license, so I'm always ready to defend my children at any moment! My husband don't call me Momma Grisly for nothing!! LOL

  7. Yep.

  8. So Tara what service are you or have you been in?

  9. Only if it was 'life or death' or like absolutely necessary

  10. They are too busy being oppressed to fight.

  11. I'm a feminist and I served, U.S. Army Combat Medic, counselor and RN.  Women fight for this country, defend it right now in all branches of the U.S. military.  Go speak with a recruiter to become better informed as to how many women have always and are now proudly serving this country.

  12. I don't have an answer but am sincerely curious how you came by this idea. All I know is that I would be absolutely terrified, don't know if I could kill someone or watch people die. Feminist or not.

  13. Tara...did a woman with a brain call you something nasty...like a sleezy looking s***k?

A feminist is not an unshaven woman in jeans/white t-shirt and cropped hair...or a woman who hates men...a feminist is someone who just wants equality for both the sexes.

They look and act no different to most women (not to s****s though)...only SOME hard line feminists look and act differently.

I think most women want to be treated equally.

YOU have a chip on your shoulder.

Just because someone is labled a feminist, does not mean that they would not wish to protect their country.

    Next you will be asking:

Is a feminist more likely to smell of B.O than a normal woman?

Or is a feminist against women who wear mini-skirts...or some other stupid c**p like that.

  14. Most feminists are left wingers. ergo, because they don't believe in the Nation State, they wouldn't fight for it themselves. They would though be quite happy for other women to have the choice to do so. To feminists, it's all about undermining men.

  15. I think a feminist would be more likely to do so, but yes, if necessary I would sever my country.

  16. You ask inflammatory questions but without a great deal of historical/political acumen on which to base them.

Pacifism and feminism do not necessarily go hand in hand.

In WWI the women's suffrage movement suspended its campaigns in favour of support for nationalist concerns, fighting the Germans!

Not all second wave feminists in the 60's opposed the Vietnam war.

Your generalisations are spurious! Can one be a feminist and want to defend one's country?

Well, judging by the plight of women in Iraq and Afghanistan, you better believe I would bear arms...and not simply against fundamentalists, but probably against the occupiers too, just in case...expressing a feminist opinion does not make one a doormat and waiting for any army to embrace rights for women, then h**l would freeze over!

  17. Feminists are the first to scream "We want our rights!"

During war, feminists are the first to say, "Men, be strong. Men, be brave. Go and fight to defend your helpless women!".

This is why in the Feminist Republic of America, only men must register for The Draft.

  18. Non-Feminist, but I support a lot of their progress and change through out the years. And I served 10 yrs in the U.S. Navy as a Cryptologic Communicator on board a U.S. Navy combatant unit, as well as gave support to Navy Submarines  in Yokosuka, Japan; where I held the title of Information Systems Technician. I've served in the middle east twice after the USS Cole bombing, a ship that was in my direct battle group where I lost fellow shipmates, and prior to the falling fo the World Trade Center (98 - 2001) And be careful, I think we have some bad@$$ female Marines (leathernecks) floating around in here some where (HOORRAA KILL).

So tell me, besides showing your back side for all to see (and god knows what else), what services have you performed for your country?

  19. Yes, if it was necessary, of course. Feminists would probably be more likely to fight than other women.

There are several feminists who are or have been in the military on GWS.

  20. of course i would fight for my country, and my family, the right thing ETC. on the front line if i had to.

  21. If I had to then I'd have to.

I'm not a feminist but women don't belong in combat unless the enemy is breaking down your front door.

The Rape of Nanking comes to mind.

  22. Only if and when the politicians and the wealthy are willing to have their own family members fight to defend the country instead of using poorer people as war fodder. If more of them had to make personal sacrifices like that, then there would be fewer wars.
