Women’s British Open’s poster released
2012 Ricoh Women’s British Open has been announced and will take place from the 13th to the 16th of September.
The official poster for the event features top women golfers from around the world. The event will take place in Royal Liverpool Golf Club, a golf course that is both scenic and challenging.
The entry list announced for the event is a star studded affair. This is also reflected from the poster that showcases the top talent about to play in the tournament.
Women’s British Open is co-sanctioned by Ladies European Tour and Ladies Professional Golf Association.
The defending champion Yani Tseng from Taiwan is centre stage in the poster. She is about to compete against the world’s best talent that include international and local stars.
America is represented by Paula Creamer and Cristie Kerr. From South Korea, Ji Yai Shin and Na Yeon Choi will compete in the event, along with Ai Miyazato from Japan.
The winners of the previous Women's British Open events are also anticipated make an appearance. Karrie Webb, the Australian player, who has won the event three times in 1995, 1997 and 2002, will also play in the tournament.
England’s own super stars will also be present. Catriona Matthew, Laura Davies and Melissa Reid have confirmed their availability.
Catriona Matthew won the 2009 edition of the event while Laura Davies was the winner of 1986’s tournament.
The poster has attracted a great deal of attention from all quarters. The brand ambassador of Ricoh, the main sponsor of the event, Paula Creamer said about the poster, “There are 12 really great players from all over the world pictured on the 2012 Ricoh
Women’s British Open poster and it is pretty amazing to think how many other girls should probably be pictured too”.
The management of Royal Liverpool Golf Club is also very excited about the event. Even with its reputation already sealed as one of the top golfing destinations in Great Britain, the course welcomes the prestige the tournament will bring.
Ricoh Women’s British Open 2012 will give golf fans a great show of the talent of the international golf stars. The event will be broadcasted on all major networks.
