  1. Actually buying a helmet online is a bad idea. Size matters and is a safety factor in this case. It needs to be as near perfect of a fit as possible in order for the helmet to actually work the way it is supposed to.

It should only have about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of play in it. That means if you have it on and you hold it by the front piece (mouth area), you should only be able to move your head in either direction by that amount.

A helmet that is too big will give you bobble head going any faster than 40MPH. The wind will go up through the neck area and fill the helmet. With no escape for the air, your head will lift up, neck stretch out and your head will just start bobbing like a bobble head. There is a serious chance of neck strain and is dangerous because it takes your focus off of riding safe.

If the helmet is too small, you'll always get a headache and even dizziness after riding more than an hour. Too tight also prevents healthy air flow. You need some air flowing through the helmet to prevent fog up on the screen. It feels good too when it's hot out.

There is no way to guarantee a good fit when buying online because you can't try it on. Put some foot work in and get something that looks good but will also provide maximum protection. Don't buy online.

  2. Get any of the ones named below in primer black, and have it painted.

  3. www.kneedraggers.com

They have extensive reviews riders themselves give on each product they bought.

If I could recommened a helmet it would be the Scorpion EXO1000, it has a rediculous amount of features like a $700 helmet for about $300. YouTube "Scorpion EXO 1000", sportbiketrackgear did a great 2 part review of it. It's really comfortable, at 30mph or 140mph.
