Women’s cricket: India beat West Indies by six wickets in first Twenty20
A tidy team performance by India Women helped them seal a comfortable six-wicket win over visiting West Indies Women in the opening Twenty20 match of the three-match series played at Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Chasing a meagre 90 to win, the hosts reached the target quite comfortably with 16 balls to spare and six wickets intact, going 1-0 up in the series.
Though there was no noticeable performer for the home side, most of their batsmen got starts, contributing to the victory in what was the first-ever match in the shortest form of cricket between the two outfits.
