Women's cricket team winning gold for Pakistan
Cricket is probably the most popular sport in the Subcontinent. India and Pakistan have been dominant in this region and Sri-Lanka is not far behind them. In recent years, women’ scricket has also developed in this region.
Women always used to see and follow cricket and they watched the game of cricket alongside men in the stadiums and at their homes. In the past decade, women have developed interest in playing cricket in this region.
Women have been involved in other major sports such as squash, table tennis, tennis, hockey, badminton, athletics and others. They have also represented their respective nations at the international level and competed amongst the very best and earn a name

The Pakistani skipper thought the other way saying that her team was destined to win gold. So whether it was India or Sri-Lanka, she believed that no one could have stopped the Pakistani women to win their gold medal.
It can be said that the competition might have been tougher if the other two Asian giants participated in the event. The Pakistan women’s team should not look back from here. This is a big step forward for them in the sport and it would have done a lot good
to their confidence.
The team was given a warm welcome by the nation when they arrived back to Pakistan. The government also announced many incentives for the team after honouring the team.
The triumph of Pakistan’s women’s team would also give a lot of confidence and self belief to the other women playing different sports for their country. It will give them motivation to compete at the international level and perform for their country to
win international events. The Pakistan officials should also promote sports and particularly women’s sports so that the women in the country may come forward to represent their nation.
A sport is equally healthy for women as for men and women should also be given a fair chance to represent their country at the highest level. Any sport should be promoted from the very basic level and young girls should be given a fair chance to polish their
talent and perform in the international arena.
