Women’s teams of Thailand clinch success at the AVC Continental Beach Volleyball Cup (Part 1)

The women’s teams from Thailand kept their amazing run at the home series. The AVC Continental Beach Volleyball Cup completed its run in Cha-am, Phetchaburi, Thailand. The double-gender Beach Volleyball Campaign kicked off on November 30 and continued for
three days. The event welcomed teams from Vietnam, Laos and hosts Thailand. Each country sent four teams in both categories of players. In the women’s section, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam were represented by following two duos:

Thailand 1 (Usa Tenpaksee- Jarunee Sannok) Thailand 2 (Komoltip Kulna- Yupa Phokrongploy) Vietnam 1 (Nguyen Thi Mai - Truong Thi Yen) Vietnam 2 (Do Thi Hau – Ngo  Vo Thanh Loan) Laos 1 (Chanhaloun Vongsaya - Phimphone Orasa) Laos 2 (Phonedany Dovangsavanh – Pany Nanhthavong)
 
Both home teams appeared in three matches each. They worked out great progress and launched their authority on the visitors. Thailand remained unbeaten and clinched success in the opening two days of the tournament. The successful Thai duos have clinched
berths in the Southeast Asian Sub-Zonal Tournament.
Thailand 1 vs. Vietnam 2 (21-8, 21-13)
Usa Tenpaksee/Jarunee Sannok of Thailand 1 collided with Vietnam 2, which comprised of Do Thi Hau/Ngo VO Thanh Loan on the Wednesday, December 1st, 2010. The home side easily managed to dismantle the power of their opponents and declared victory
after 25 minutes’ play. The victory in first match set a direction for the team and they continued with success in the following matches.
Thailand 1 vs. Vietnam 1 (21-17, 16-21, and 15-13)
On the same day, Thailand met the other team from Vietnam. The pairing of Nguyen Thi Mai/Truong Thi Yen created a bit of trouble for the Thai team. Thailand started out well and captured the first set but Vietnam 2 shocked them by tying the score in second
set. Somehow, Thailand regained the authority in third set and dug up success by winning third set of the match. Thailand finished the first day of the tournament with 2-match victory.
Thailand 1 vs. Laos 2 (21-4, 21-11)

Thailand opened the second day by taking on Phoedany Dovangsavanh and Pany Nanhthavong of Laos 2. The match was held on Thursday, 2nd December, 2010. Thailand’s team enjoyed a great form and easily managed to beat the underdog Laos’ team. Thai duo
completely dominated the first set of the game. The quick shots of Usa worked magic in the court. Sannok also supported her team’s score and clipped many points. On the other hand, Laos was down with shaky performance. They could hardly put 4 points on the
board in the first set, while Thailand achieved the set-point.
Laos’ players perform better in second set but still they couldn’t match their performance with powerhouse Thailand. The home side built a strong lead and paved its way to third straight victory in the AVC Women’s Beach Volleyball Tournament.
Thailand 1 vs. Laos 1 (21-8, 21-11)
Thailand’s team played their last match against Laos 1 on Thursday, December 2. Usa and Jarunee were challenged by Chanhaloun and Phimphone. The young team of Loas was full of ambition and put up a great fight. They resisted to Thailand’s movement in first
set and put their hands up in the air at almost every shot. Thailand played a natural game and regularly contributed points. They directed the shots in corners and crushed rival side with big lead in first set. They bagged first set victory by posting 21-8.
The second set of the game also came successful for home team. They quickly covered the length of second set and pulled off victory. It took them just 21 minutes to claim the match. Thailand scored four points at the end of 2nd day of AVC Beach
Volleyball Tournament. The due qualified for the Southeast Asian Sub-Zonal Tournament.
