Somehow, being strapped in a little car careening through the bowels of the earth has little appeal for me.

Subways are a necessary part of mass transit in a large metropolitan area, but given the choice, I will take a cab.

That would be great but not for the people who don't like roller coasters.

That is a sweet idea but I think subways are more efficient because you can fit more people and it's probably less dangerous.

You know, there is still a wooden roller coaster at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, Mexifornia.  Oops, I mean CALIfornia.

As soon as the cars leave the loading area, it plunges into a pitch black tunnel for a bit.  With major visual sensory deprivation, the other senses are accentuated, and it's quite a rush.  I've been riding it since about 1959 or so.

It's a good old ride...

But having something more extensive, in pitch darkness, would be mind boggling.  If you can't see the twists, turns, apexes, etc. coming your way, there's no way to brace against it.

Believe it or not, you may have stumbled on to something.  

Excuse me for now.  I have to call the people at Six Flags....
