If one were to choose this as their afsc, and pass the air traffic control portion of training but fail out of the other, would they be sent back to lets say training to be a cook or would they simply be come an air traffic controller

  1. Nope, you will be sent to be retrained into a afsc that the AF currently needs.

While it might be an ATC, chances are it will not be.

Alot depends on why you failed training,

They do work with you on what jobs you can be trained in.

For someone who gave it thier all, but just couldn't pass, they will work with you more.

For someone who was booted because they did something wrong, they aren't gonna give you much choice.

And of course, any AFSC offered, will be one your asvab scores qualified you for.

  2. If you have the aptitude to become a air traffic controler, don't worry about washing out.You will have help all-around you.You would hav'te be a real s***w-up to be riffed down to food service.
