I homeschool him and am afraid since I didn't do any practice tests I handicapped him. He has taken the Stanford every year and gets in the 90's percentile-wise. He took the OLSAT for Grade 5 and did very well (with no prep) so what is the deal for Grade 8?

  1. Its not as bad as it sounds, if you think about it the average student his age at his grade level is whom he is being compared to on that test and the average for all those kids is the 50th percentile. He is not all that far behind. He still did as well as or better than 30% of the students taking the test. You already know he is intelligent and you now know some area where he may need to spend a little more time practicing...its only one test.....youre not a failed teacher/mother and he is not a failed son/student.....Use it as a learning experience and build upon it...He will be fine.
