Wondering about my trip to Newfoundland?

I am going on a vacation to Newfoundland. Does anyone have any ideas of some cool stuff to see in St. Johns? I'll be in St. Johns, Deer Lake, Grosse Mornes, Lance Aux Meadows, and in Labrador in Red Bay.

Any neat ideas?

  1. The best way to do New Foundland, I think, is through a tour company called

    http;//www.efcollegebreak.com

It's super cheap and a lot of fun.  But you have to be between the ages of 18-26 to get the discounts that encourage students to travel.

Are you between the ages of 18-26?  If so, I can reccommend how I have travelled all of Europe.  It's awesome!

It lists tons of vacations, priced cheap for students...or really anyone from age 18 to 26.

They take care of the airfare, transportation, activities...they basically make sure you have a great time!

Its way cheap, fun (you get to travel with other hot college kids), safer and smarter.

Plus if you use this manager code: gavrie6237

you'll get a $50.00 discount on top of the already cheap price!!

  2. Satine has included some good things to check out. The thing she forgot to mention is that no matter where you go in NewFoundland, the people are the absolute greatest. Chat them up - they know all the points of interest, all the traditions and the older one's I have met had some of the most fascinating WWII stories if that interests you. WWII affected the Maritimes, perhaps more profoundly due to the sea traffic.

Take your camera - the scenery is fantastic. Have a grand time.

  3. In St. John's you can go and see Signal Hill which is a historical monument, as well as George Street which is a famous bar & club spot. Taking a look at Memorial University's campus could also be interesting.

Unfortunately the harbor does not have much going on in it, but taking a walk around the ocean might be nice.

You could also watch icebergs if you're lucky enough.

I can't think of anymore, it has a beautiful nature but is a small city nonetheless which could be boring, I lived there for 8 months and was going nuts.
