My family and I went on the Queen Mary 2 in the Caribbean over christmas, and it was so much fun and there were heaps of young people. But we were thinking about going on another QM2 cruise from L.A. to Sydney or something, and we were wondering, are there many young people on these kind of cruises? We thought the young people may have just been there because of the Caribbean destination, but are they there for the other cruises?

  1. That would be a grand voyage. On a longer cruise like that you should expect fewer kids - but there will be some.

I love the Queen Mary and LA to Sydney would be a very special cruise.  There are some good deals available for that itinerary.

  2. Last year I went on the Princess cruise lines from Sydney to LA and I found very few kids on board because it was from Mid April to Mid May. It was on the Sapphire Princess which is a large ship and I think only 4 kids were on board. Three were home schooled and one was not. So even though you are thinking of taking the same trip, but in reverse and on the QM2, unless it is done during the summer, don't expect many kids. Also th price of this cruise would make it pretty prohibited for many family's with kids. Our cruise was 29 days long
