I found myself wondering if I am a slave to my destiny last night, do you think we choose to follow our destiny, and we can choose free will instead? or do you not believe in destiny only and why do you believe what you believe? how do you deal with questions that bother you that you cannot ever get an answer to?

  1. it's the decision that determines destiny... you see we're free to choose, we're not free not to choose, and we're not free to choose the consequences of our choices. if you were to die today, where would you be? You could be in heaven or in h**l. log on to www.lwf.org

  2. Funny.  I swear I was reading scientology books to look for an answer to this!  It seems to me that we are burdened with our past experiences and those of our parents and ancestors because emotions rule our actions.  It is like the Serbs, they have been fighting for 1000s of years.  Some say it is just in their blood.  I think things become ingrained in their culture and continues through generations.  I don't know why, but I thought scientology could free me of these clouds so that I could make "right" decisions!  LEt me know if you find out.

  3. just answer the questions that you can..I believe everyone has a destinty to fulfill, but it is up to us and making right decisions to get us to that destiny...

  4. Free will is an illusion.  There is no such thing.

  5. My destiny is right around the corner...  easy to find and also to ask directions so I don't loose my way...  that ever happen to you?

  6. I never bother with questions that have no answers, I have better things to do. I believe our lives are pre destined coz my life taught has me that. We can make active choices though, yes and no wield incredible power. But I believe our souls are born with a destiny that cannot be avoided and no matter what we decide to do we will ultimately end up in the same place whether we take the short road or the scenic route.

  7. We don't have  free will at all, in the sense that we are outside the regular laws that govern the universe.  We are just as much determined by them as any other thing, but you're still part of the determining process.  Your choices are still part of the chain of cause and effect, but your choices aren't free because they have higher causes theme selves.

  8. You can't choose to follow you're destiny, if any choice were possible that would be free will.

However after something has happened, you have two ways of dealing with it,

    1. I made that happen by the choices I took, next time i could choose to do something different

    2. I had no control over it, fate made it Happen.

One of these allows you to take responsibility for your life, the other leaves you a helpless shipwreck victim on the seas of time.

I believe you can choose how you want to interact with the world and sometime if there's no answer i just have to get on with the other 1000 questions that constantly grab me

  9. Destiny is just an excuse for people not to take responsibility for their actions and to settle for less when they could be attaining more.  They believe that because their lives are already planned out for them they should just slide through life and let things happen, instead of working towards creating a better life for themselves and their families.  Everyone has free will, even the people who believe in destiny, because they've chosen to let their life happen instead of making their life what they want it to be.

So, yeah, I believe in free will.  I believe in it so much that I got it tattooed to my arm, because I never want to have to wonder, as you do, if I'm a slave to destiny.  As for questions that never seem to have an answer, I make my own answers to them.  Whether they're right or wrong makes no difference, because I've chosen the answer that I can live with, or if I can't, one that at least makes sense.  Life is kind of like a huge Y!A site, isn't it?  xD
