Wondering the specifics of loaning a pony?

Hi can people give me the specifics of loaning a pony,

and the very rough estimate of the maximum it would

cost for a month's loan? I know it's rather difficult but

I'd really like some help! I've been riding for 9 years now

and know how to look after a pony because I have been

a groom since I started riding. Help please?

And also just any other general information you can

give me. :) THANKS x

  1. This really depends on the owner and what they want from you and how much they pay for livery etc.  If you took it on full loan you would be responsible for all costs, livery, feed, shoeing, insurance etc and this is generally the norm, but you can work out the specifics with the owner.  I have a horse on half loan and I pay half the livery bills while the owner takes care of his shoes and insurance.  It works out at £150 and I'm free to do what I like with him within reason!

Most adverts with horses for sale have sections with people offering and looking for horses for loan.

Horse and Hound magazine had an article recently about sharing agreements, which recommended having something in writing detailing everything agreed between all involved parties.

Best of luck to you and I hope you find a great horse!
