We are fulltime RVers and have been using Microsoft Street & Trips (with out GPS). We are looking to buy a new one with GPS. I like to plan ahead on the computer ahead of time, but it would be nice to have GPS in the cab with us. Any suggestions as to which is best?

  1. I have a version of Streets & Trips 2007 that came with a GPS antenna that plugs into a USB port on my laptop.  It worked great in my motor home, using the laptop as a GPS moving map while driving.  Unfortunately, the cockpit space in my truck is somewhat limited, so I downsized to a Garmin Street Pilot GPS Unit.  I still use Streets & Trips to pre-plan my routes, but the Garmin is much more convenient while I'm driving...

  2. Well, I personally have owned 3 different brands and as an installer, had the opportunity to play with some others as well.

I like the ease of use from TomTom, but I really like the Magellan Maestro 5310 the best. It really is the best detailed and easiest to use. If you dont want to spend that much, you can step down to a smaller model, but I would definitely stay with the Magellan.
