Wong Pei Tty and Chin Eei h*i vow to put up good show in the Singapore Open Super Series 2011
Malaysian Women’s Doubles shuttlers, Wong Pei Tty and Chin Eei h*i, are confident to put up a good show in the Singapore Open Super Series 2011. The main target of the duo is to reach at the top-four stage of the event.
The World Number 33 ranked pair, Chin Eei and Wong Pei, have never made it to the semi-finals of any Super Series event. However, this time the Malaysian Doubles shuttlers are expected to perform well in the tournament, as they are in good shape.
Chin Eei is optimistic for the success of the duo in the Singapore Open, which will lift their confidence for the World Badminton Championships 2011.
Chin Eei said, “We have two Super Series events before the world championships. A good outing will certainly give us a huge dose of confidence going into the championships in London.”
She further added, “But the draw is not easy on us in the Singapore Open. All the current top 10 pairs are competing and it will be a big challenge for us. We will try our best to make our first appearance in a Super Series semi-final this year.”
The Malaysian pair’s best performance in any Super Series event was in the India Open Super Series 2011, when they reached in the quarter-final of the championship.
In the Singapore Open Super Series 2011, only one pair of Malaysia is participating in the Women’s Doubles category. Chin Eei and Wong Pei will also appear in the Indonesia Open Premier Super Series 2011, which will kick-off from June 21, in Jakarta, Indonesia.
In the last three months, Chin Eei and Wong Pei have been doing well, as they played the final of the Australia Open Grand Prix Gold 2011. The duo is now eyeing to put up a good show in the two back-to-back events this month, including the Singapore and
Indonesia Open.
Their good performance in these important Super Series and Premier Super Series events will also earn them precious ranking points to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.
