Wonky cordyline ????

I have a cordyline in me garden that i planted it a year ago , it has been growing fine for the last year and has grown about four foot , the problem now is that it is starting to grow at a angle and is not streight , has anybody got any idea why this is and can anybody tell me how i can make it grow streight ???

  1. too much water makes the trunk of a cordyline soft and weak and it will bend at that spot....

    I've only had the potted ones, so I cannot suggest how to straighten a big one....


  2. You need to stake it. So it will train to grown straight. Take a six foot pole and place it in the ground about 6 inches from base of plant. Tie the plant to it in several places. It's best to tie it with something soft like pieces of fabric. Something that won't cut into the plant. Keep the stake there until the plant straightens out.

  3. maybe it needs to be staked but I know from the one I've got in my conservatory it needs to be turned regularly or else it will grow toward the sun/light and thus give an appearance of being lop sided make sure each side gets a turn facing the light hope this works for you as it has for me all the best
