Wont print says its ready

Question

i am trying to print a document from a laptop with vista.
When i go into the actually settings on the laptop it says its ready but when i look at the little box that shows whats printing and the status it says its deleteing one of the documents but its taking ages. how do i print as its very important as its for coursework.
