Wood Yer aiming to stretch the streak to a four in the Easter Egg-Stravaganza Family Day 7th April Novices’ Handicap Chase at Carlisle

Carlisle is to host the Class 4 Easter Egg-Stravaganza Family Day 7th April Novices’ Handicap Chase over two miles and five furlongs on Thursday, 22nd March. The race has assembled a lineup of six who will invade the track for the purse
that is worth £3, 054.
None on the lineup has raced and won at Carlisle lately. Wood Yer, Anshan’s six-year-old chestnut gelding out of mare Glenasheen, is by far the most accomplished entry on the lineup. He comes out of winning background from the previous year and was capable
enough to stretch the streak into the new season.
He popped into the new season by winning the Barchester Juniper House Care Home Handicap Chase on 26th February at Towcester over two miles and three and a half furlong.
The 3/1 favourite winner was paired up with Sam Twiston-Davies and the two were in lead of 2 ¼ lengths on the field of ten.
Cool Operator was second to conclude the race while joining him soon was Great Hero.
The previous season was quite very rewarding for him as Wood Yer won two of the four starts with getting placed in the remaining.
Not only was Wood Yer the evening’s favourite in the $26M Breeders’ Cup Nov 4th And 5th Handicap Chase rather he branded the race by winning it with Sam Twiston-Davies as the two had a six lengths’ advantage working for them on 31st
October at Plumpton.
The Darling Boy finished second and settling third behind the winner was The Hardy Boy.
Wood Yer’s final start of the 2011 season came in the form of Download Williamhill.Com On Your Mobile Novices’ Chase on 26th December at Huntingdon over two miles and four and a half furlong.
Even though not entered as the favourite this time around, Wood Yer steered the race his way by taking charge of ¾ of a length and making it through the wire before the runner up, Space Mission, could.
Catching up with the third position was El Padrino while following right behind him was the 2/1 favourite of the race, George Nympton.
Getting the race under the belt today will extend the winning streak to four and will be a second straight victory of the new season.
