Woodbine - Turallure feeling fine after his spirited performance in the Woodbine Mile

After a special run in the Grade 1 Woodbine Mile for the winner Turallure, it is good to see that he has come out of the race fine and grazing, one of his favourite pastimes according to trainer Charles Lopresti on the morning of 19 September.
In Etobicoke, Ontario – Turallure doesn’t seem to look knocked out after his intelligent yet furious run in the Woodbine $1 million feature race on 18 September.
The son of Wando, out of Personal Allure by Wekiva Springs, the 4-year-old colt handed trainer Charles Lopresti his second Grade 1 win of his career, the first one came when he sent out Here Comes Ben to run in the Grade 1 Forego Stakes at Saratoga last
summer.
The Donna Arnold owned colt, Turallure was coming off a big win in the Woodbine Mile when he aced the Grade 2 Bernard Baruch.
It was Turallure’s second start in the Saratoga meet on 26 August, 2011, on grass and over a distance of 1 1/8 miles.
Under jockey Julien Leparoux, Turallure was up against the likes of Get Stormy, Hymn Book and Baryshnikov, but the 10 to 1 Turallure turned the tables on all of them and won the Grade 2 Bernard Baruch.
His first start of the 2011 Saratoga meet was also in a grade 2 race, the Fourstardave Handicap on 31 July, 2011, also on grass.
It wasn’t marked as a good outing for Turallure as he finished a distant fifth on the day over a distance of 1 1/16 miles. The first three to roll in were Sidney’s Candy, Moryba and Beau Choix with the winning time of 1 minute and 43.25 seconds.
Turallure in the 2011 season has gone on to race six times, and has won 3 races out of his 6 starts with a single finish on the board in an allowance race at Churchill Downs on 6 May, 2011.
If all remains well, Charles Lopresti will be looking to send his grade 1 winning colt to the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Mile on 5 November, 2011, at Churchill Downs since the Woodbine Mile was the Win and You’re In race.
