The North London club went on to complete the signing of Podolski from Koln earlier in the week and the striker is set to make the move to the Emirates at the end of the current season.
Woodcock, who happens to have played for both Koln and Arsenal in the past, believes that Podolski has made the right career choice, by opting to make the move to the Emirates and he expects the German international to have a massive impact at his new club.
When talking about the striker and his move to the Emirates, the former Gunners forward is quoted to have said: “Lukas is a very, very good player and I am sure that he will be a success at Arsenal so the fans should be very excited at the prospect of him
joining their club”
“I am certain that he will do very well in the Premier League because of the timing. This is the perfect time for Lukas to be making the switch from German to English football and it is a great move for the club and for the player himself.”
He went on to admit that the twenty six year old had ample experience and the fact that he had made almost a hundred appearances for the German national team meant that he was the real deal.
At the same time, Woodcock expects the forward to settle in at the club right away, given the way he has been performing for Koln and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904.
“He is only 26 but he has plenty of experience from his time with Koln, Bayern Munich and with the German national side – he has got almost 100 caps and he is still relatively young - and this is the right time for him to go to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and the right place.”
It is now up to Arsene Wenger to decide just what he wants to do with the player and just where he wants to play him.
