Wooden Chris Craft... its a 1963 I want to "Linex" the bottom. Has anyone ever done it? Linex is the stiff they spray truck beds with so they don't rust. We want to do this to make it tight. Do you think it would work? Just an Idea.

  1. NO  a wood boat is a lot of work BUT when you finish rebuilding her she is beutiful no fiber glass boat can compair to it  but is a lot of work

also get books on rebuildling wood boats and do it the right way  it will save you alot of pain later and when people come up to you and give you the thumbs up or ask you about your boat you will know you did it right

  2. This Linex suff is way to heavey for a boat. their is a West Marine in most sities, or order on line Epoxy the bottom .

  3. repair the damage correctly and get rid of it. Had a 1959 wooden chris craft.  24ft, toooooooo muuuucccchh woooorrrkkk

  4. I had a 21 ft ceder silboat that leaked . I strpped all the paint off it and put 2 coats of epoxy resin on it. It worked great and never leaked again!!. 3 years later i fiberglassed the complete boat. The boat is 40 yrs old now and still looks great.

  5. will help it to not leak but will make a moisture  barrier holding in moisture and will rot quicker moisture barrier will b between wood and linex very bad prob

  6. Nope...use West System epoxy or another high quality Epoxy.
