Woodland eyes forming an alliance with Butch Harmon
There has been a lot of buzz regarding the year 2012 being a valuable year for a majority of golfers all over the world.
It is precisely the same reason that golfers around the globe are making every possible effort that will help them to sharpen their teeing skills.
In the context of this situation, it does not come much of a surprise when the prominent and reputed golf player, Gary Woodland, instead of heading towards his hometown in Florida, altered his plans to visit Las Vegas.
The tour can be termed as an attempt of gambling but not on a casino table, instead by forming an alliance with his new coach, Butch Harmon.
According to credible sources, Woodland has been quite curious about the formation of this team and he wanted to get into practice immediately.
The reason is simple. There are tournaments and championships that have to be played and others that are in the pipeline.
Woodland cannot possibly risk losing the opportunity to participate and shine in the upcoming events.
In order to perform effectively and emerge victorious, it is important that he should sharpen his golfing skills to the best of his capability and for that Butch is the best possible option available to him.
While talking to Golfweek Magazine, Woodland expressed his confidence in his new coach by saying, "Butch has taken people where I want to go".
It is important to mention here that Woodland recently topped the list of highly aspiring golfers after he secured a convincing victory at the PGA Tour of 2011, held in March.
Ranking 17th on PGA money list in 2011, Woodland was able to surge his performance by securing the 59th
position in the world rankings.
However, for the 27-year-old, there is still a long way to go. He is eyeing people like Luke Donald and Rory McIlroy who have achieved much more in a considerably shorter duration of time.
Donald, with the help of his new coach, was able to bring phenomenal improvement in his game and in his overall world ranking.
Similar is the pattern being followed by Woodland. In addition to this, it is also important to state here that in his entire career Butch has played a pivotal role in providing Tiger Woods and Greg Norman the break they required in their golfing career.
Butch’s combination with Woodland will definitely extend the same legacy.
