Woods no longer a winner? Critics speak out!
Tiger Woods and his story of unfortunate golf events continue. The US Open saw a stronger person but a less consistent ‘golfer’.
The criticism has flown in once again with the disappointing finish that Woods gave at the Olympic Club. This time, the critics are furious.
The Memorial win enriched the Tiger of golf with the aspects he was missing for far too long. It was a delightful sight when Woods lifted the Memorial trophy, roaring a comeback.
After the Memorial win, it was destined for Woods to shine at the US Open, however, his destiny fell short by a mile.
Consistency is the trade mark attribute that Woods had till the 2008 US Open. After that, it was the scandals, the divorce and the bad press conferences that became the only news for the former world number one.
Although Woods is happy with his recent performance but the critics have something else in mind. It is said that Tiger Woods does not have the cutting edge he had previously. It is the pressure that has overcome the charisma and the signature smile that
was once visible.
It has been a very long time since we saw Woods having the smile on his face that was considered as one of the best smiles in the world of golf. All that remains is the anger and the frustration that he displays after a bad swing.
Woods takes the US Open play last week as ‘positive’ and believes that the future will have much more positivity in it.
“A lot of positives this week, Overall, the way I struck the golf ball, the way I controlled it all week is something that’s very positive going forward,” said Woods after the US Open.
He also admitted that if he would have stayed on the course a little longer, things would have ended up differently.
“If I just would have just hung in there little bit better and missed it on the correct side a couple times, then I would have been in a better position going into,” said the Tiger of golf.
It is a difficult time for Woods to tackle the criticism he is facing but he appears strong and is focusing on his game plan for the future tournaments.
