Wooohooo sippy cup surprise ??

Question

"OH WOW, how long has that sippy cup been sitting there? This is probably the reason my car is stinking, ok well we will just take this in was it and put some car freshener in the back seat." After pointing the cup as far away from me as possible, turning it towards the sink.... cringing as I take the lid off. "YUCK, PUTRIDGE SMELL!!" firmented juice, how nice :)

I agree on the sippy cup trashing! I've been there! I bought little car-sized Fabreeze bottles.

if mine get like that i just put them in really hot soapy water and let them sock about an hour or so and they come out clean. and smelling good

As inexpensive as sippy cups are trash it.  As for the car try some febreeze or a carpet cleaner.

i would either pitch it or let it soak for awhile in hot soapy water, i like the Dawn w/bleach or Dawn w/oxi

Try bleach or vinegar for the cup making sure you scrub the lid parts well. As for the car, let it air out and make sure there are no spills from the cup on the carpeting.

Try Bleach or Vinegar for the cup and Resolve Carpet Cleaner and Febreeze for the Car. It is probably not logical to get a new car but cups are cheap...get a new cup and send the old to the landfill!!!

You can boil it or soak it hot water with a little bleach or bicarb soda.  If it's got mould growing on it I'd biff it - they're not that easy to clean in all the nooks and crannies.

For nasty situations like this (and there have been many) I sprinkle bicarb all over the floor of the car (or near where you found the cup), leave it for an hour or two and then vacuum it up.  Air freshener will just mask the smell, the bicarb should absorb it and take the smell to the vacuum cleaner with it.  Give the car a good airing out as well.
