Worcester Warriors hand over extension in contract to head coach Richard Hill - Rugby news

English Rugby Union side, Worcester Warriors, has handed over a premature extension in the contract of their head coach, Richard Hill. In 2010, Hill took over from the former Warriors coach,
Mike Ruddock, who resigned following his team’s relegation at the end of the 2009/10 Aviva Premiership.
Hill signed a two-year deal with the Warriors, which was due to end at the close of the 2011/12 season. However, following his exceptional performance in the 2010/11 RFU Championship season,
which has earned Warriors a place in the 2011/12 Aviva Premiership season, club management has decided to sign an extension in contract for Hill.
The new two-year deal has enabled Hill to remain with the Warriors until the end of the 2014 season. Officials at the club have confirmed the new deal with Hill in a statement released on their
website.
Worcester Warriors Managing Director, Charlie Little, has praised Hill’s achievements for the club and termed him as the “the right man to bring success to Sixways.” He added, that Hill’s has
superbly completed this primarily objective, which was to take the team back to the top-level premiership.
Little has expressed his delight that Hill has agreed on the new two-year deal with the club. He added that his stay at the club will bring stability in the coaching, players’ development and
retention policies.
Commenting on Hill’s skills, Little said, “Not only has he delivered that, but he has brought in a strong work ethic, winning culture and accountability across all departments. He is on his
way to building what we believe will be a highly professional squad capable of achieving our aims and ambitions in the coming years.”
Hill, who is a former Bath and English international scrum half, has expressed his delighted in the extension of his current contract.  Under Hill, Warriors lost a just a single game in the
RFU championship season and are currently undergoing 2011/12 Premiership pre-season preparations.
Commenting on the new contract, Hill said, “I initially signed a two-year contract at Worcester as both parties wanted to see how things went. I thoroughly enjoyed my first season and what
has been very clear to me is the huge potential here at Sixways.”
Hill has praised the support of the management, coaching staff and players for their positive roles, which has enabled him to develop a professional work ethic and culture. He further added
that he often was questioned by the players regarding his limited stay at the club and with this new deal, he can confidently reply that he himself has a long-term commitment with the club.
