Worcestershire bowled out against Northamptonshire on Day 1 – County Championship Division Two
The first day of the four-day County Championship Division Two match between Worcestershire and Northamptonshire was eventful where the latter dominated their opponents and now trail only by 96 runs with 6 wickets remaining in the first innings at County
Ground, Northampton.
Northamptonshire, who chose to field, struck early by nabbing their first wicket with only a run on the board. Worcestershire skipper Daryl Mitchell was unlucky as he was trapped in front of stumps in the sixth over with only a run to his name.

Aneesh Kapil was unlucky as he could score only four runs before getting run out, leaving his team lingering on 111. With five batsmen down, Worcestershire needed to regroup and forge defiance against the bowling onslaught.

Northamptonshire had the worst possible start to their innings as they lost their first wicket with only a run on the board, followed by the departure of the second batsman with Northamptonshire on two runs.
With both batsmen back in the pavilion, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Alex-Wakely-c988 halted the bowling onslaught and led their side towards 54 runs, before Wakely was clean bowled by Gareth Andrew for 31.
Sales (40) was then the last wicket to fall before stumps were called as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Northamptonshire-c824 ended the day with 100 runs on the board.
