Worcestershire seeking Phil Hughes' services for 2013 season – Cricket News Update
Worcestershire County Cricket Club are hoping to re-sign promising Australian opener Phil Hughes for the 2013 season.
The club had a disappointing 2012 season which saw them losing their LV = County Championship Division One status. Last season the Royals had initially snapped up the left-hander for second half but their Director of cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Steven-John-Rhodes-c91315 persuaded him to come for the whole season.
The 23-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 top-order batsman, who has so far played 17 Tests for his country and averages almost 35 with the bat, topped Worcestershire’s batting averages in all three competitions last season, with 100.5 in the Friends Life T20 tournament, 83 in the Clydesdale Bank 40 competition and 35 in the LV = County Championship.
The Worcestershire Director of cricket Steve Rhodes is currently in Australia on a 10-day trip, where he is also scheduled to hold talks with the New South Welshman to return to New Road in 2013 season.

Meanwhile, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hamza-Riazuddin-c1527 a fresh 12-month contract at the Rose Bowl.
The medium pace bowling all-rounder, who will turn 23 next month, was out of contract at the end of this summer. He made his debut for the club in 2008, the same year when he first played for the Under-19 side.
Excited at signing a new one-year-deal at Rose Bowl, the all-rounder said that it was a great place to be.
“Hampshire's my home, it's where I've grown up and I love playing here,” said the former England U-19 skipper. “I'd love to have a long career at Hampshire so, if I can make that work, I'll do everything I can to do that,” he added further.
