Somerset nonetheless, will still be relieved by their standing after they had bowled out the hosts earlier in the day. Resuming on 270 for 3, Worcester were undone by Trego, who added three crucial wickets to his overnight two, completing an impressive five-wicket haul.
His scalps included the all-important one of centurion Vikram Solanki. The top-order batter compiled a praise worthy knock of 106, which included 14 fours and 1 six. His wicket though, followed a bit of a later order collapse with the final five wickets adding just 38 to the total. "It is all a bit of an anticlimax," he said afterwards. "I must be honest there have been a few sleepless nights thinking about the possibility of getting those thousand runs. The more articles you read, the more you think about those illustrious cricketing names that have achieved it, you start to pinch yourself and start to think 'wow, it would be really great if I could be one of them'.
