Question:

Word 2007 help (undo/redo button)? ?

Here's the situation:

Let's say I write a sentence in word: "I like to eat chocolate."

Let's say I decide to delete part of it: "I like to "

A few minutes later I decide I want the rest of the sentence back.

If I hit the redo button, it will look like this:

"I like to eat I like to eat"

I've used both shortcut (CTRL+Z and CTRL+Y) and the actual button on the quick list. No luck.

Any ideas?

This is getting frustrating. It's only in one document, and I'm fearing that the only way to correct the problem is to retype the entire document (2000+ words).

  1. Dunno what's happening, but you don't have to retype that entire document.  Just CTRL/A, CTRL/C it and CTRL/V it into a new one.  I expect that will leave this nonsense behind.

    Hope that helps.

  2. use a simpler program like Microsoft Works Word Processor

  3. This is weird.  Do you type other characters after you decide you want "I like to" back?  That could be a problem??  The undo feature will only remember the last thing you typed/cut.

You use Ctrl-Y to repeat something you've just did.
