Word For Word to win at Dundalk – Facebook Handicap Preview
Edward Lynam’s veteran gelding, Word For Word, poses to be a worthy runner for today’s high-voltage contest of ‘Leucillin On Facebook Handicap’ which is scheduled to begin at 9:15 (GMT) at Dundalk racecourse.
The Ms Aileen Lynam-owned horse is expected to unleash immense fighting spirit and clinch the title of the cash-rich race. The competition of 1m4f distance has big prize money worth €4,830.
Fourteen runners out of total sixteen entries are set to show their guts on Friday.
The entries include Saint By Day, Casimir Road, Mosstown, Passion Planet, Night Singer, Night Breeze, The Frog Prince, Word For Word, Daytime Dreamer, Ma Ani, Chapter Nine, Coppers, Duc D’Anjou, Optiflame, Horsofadifrentcolr and Atmospheric High.
None of these runners has registered any victory in the recent past. But Word For Word stands as the hot favourite as he delivered some outstanding performances during last three months.
After finishing second each in two back-to-back races during December 2011, the black gelding grabbed 10th position in his first outing of 2012.
The talented runner went on to finish second and fifth in two more races during January. In his last two outings during the month of February, he finished fourth and second.
As a whole, the six-year-old racer has won 1 out of his total 21 starts so far. His first and last victory came on September 5, 2010.
In the light of his recent performances, it is expected that Word For Word is carrying enough momentum which will surely help him thrive today.
Moreover, the gelding’s vast familiarity with the track will be an additional advantage for him.
Among the other runners, Atmospheric High and Passion Planet are too likely to run well today.
Atmospheric High has been performing nicely since her debut in October 2010. After a long gap, the filly returned to action on January 20, 2012. She finished third each in her last three outings during the month of February.
On the other hand, Passion Planet finished fourth and second in her last two starts respectively during January-February 2012. The black filly has run for 11 times to date but she is quite winless.
By and large, the Facebook Handicap is going to be a cool competition. Word For Word will not have to struggle hard for success. Good luck to all the runners.
