  2. Wait until you get back.  The people who went to the wedding want to hear how happy you were that they came.  The people who couldn't go want to hear how much they were missed.   Also, everyone wants to know how great the honeymoon was.

    Here's a simple template

"Thank you so much for the (gift).  It's beautiful.  It will come in handy when we (host dinner, go camping, have kids)."

    or

(if cash)"What a generous gift!  Thank you so much.  It came in really handy on the honeymoon."

"It was so nice to see you again at the wedding.  We hope you had a good time.  We wish we could have spent more time talking.  We'll have to try and get together soon."

    or

"So sorry you couldn't make it to the wedding.  It was really lovely, but we know you'd have come if you could.  We'll have to get together soon to catch up and look at photos."

"We've just gotten home from (destination) and had a wonderful time (sight seeing and going to the theater).  We'll have to share the picture with you."

Give a future plans type paragraph

"Soon we hope to put in an offer on a house in (City).  We'll have you over as soon as we can."

    "Take care,

    Love (you and your husband)"

  3. Dear ???

??? and I would like to thank you for your generous gift(s) and the contribution you have made to our special day and to our future together  ...

    OR

You mean SOB!  Your tightfisted pennypinching Walmart voucher not only displays a remarkable lack of imagination - it won't even meet half the cost of the stomach upset powders.

  4. If they are coming to the wedding then this might be useful:

Thank you for your wonderful and generous gift. (Insert Fiance's name here) and I are incredibly grateful for your gift. We hope you had a wonderful time at the wedding and enjoyed it as much as we did.

    Yours,

(Insert Fiance's name here)  and your name

Or if they are not coming to the wedding then send this:

Thank you for your wonderful and generous gift. (Insert Fiance's name here)  and I are incredibly grateful for your gift. We missed you at the wedding but still had a very enjoyable day.

    Yours,

(Insert Fiance's name here)  and your name.

Good Luck With the Thank you cards and the wedding!

  5. go to your local bookstore and pick up The Bride's Thank-you guide. Its a cheap little book and has TONS of thank you note examples and ettiquette advice. It's VERY helpful. It even explains how to write a thank-you note for things that arrived broken, things you dont know what they are, group gifts, gifts from people who wont be at the wedding, money gifts, etc. Its WONDERFUL!!

  6. thank you so much for your generous gift, (your fiancee's name) and i are looking forward to our new life together and those vouchers you gave are what were missing!

    lol

    gl with wedding :-)

  7. I'd wait until after the wedding and to those that did come.

Thankyou for coming to share in our special day and thankyou for you lovely gift it was very generous.

We hope you enjoyed the wedding and look forward to seeing you soon.

Lots of love *** and *****

    for those that didn't go.

thankyou for your lovely gift it was very generous. We were really sorry to have missed you on our day but look forward to seeing you soon.

Lots of Love * and ***

Then put a small photo of you both on your wedding day inside the card...oh and buy small cards!!! saves having to write a big long speach. It's a thankyou card afterall not a 200 page novel about how fantastic your day was!!

Good luck for the wedding x
