Work Horror Stories?

Ok, so... I start my first day at BURGER KING tomorrow. I never EVER wanted to work in a fast food restaurant EVER. But my mom forced me to apply at all of the fast food places in the area. So... I turned in my app at BK and got hired on the spot. I am so d**n nervous. There is sooo much to remember and so many people watching you and waiting on you and I just don't think I can do it. I am a very solitary person and I like to go at my own pace.

On top of all that, I GOT THE WRONG SHOES! I got the exact opposite of what I was supposed to get!! And I think my pants are too baggy and long. God, I really don't want to go. Oh, and they have me coming in from 11-2... LUNCH HOURS. Whyyyy?

Please tell me some of your less-than-perfect work stories to ease my mind = [

  1. okay kid I worked at bk before and when i first started I was nervous the whole entire time. I kept messing up on people sandwiches, the manager was getting mad at me, the employees were fed up with me. So I started practicing while we weren't busy to make the sandwiches and what all comes on them. Then I started to learn how to read on what they all specifically what on their sandwiches. After that I became a pro on the sandwich board. Then I got fired for something I didn't do, but take your time and don't rush and you'll do good

  2. oh good ol burgerking. I had a job there once.

Than I got fired for eating a fry, YES A SINGLE fry out of the fry thing.

Jobs like that are a dime a dozen, don't stress out over something like burgerking honey, not worth it. Trust me.

Don't worry about the shoes. They don't pay you enough to get good ones let alone the right ones:)

  3. DON'T WORRY...of course you're gonna be nervous..my friends work at burger king and though it's not exactly a dream job it's money...and look at it this way it's not like this is the only job you're ever going to have...and when they start you on the cash register they have somebody working with you to help you out for the first week..they don't just throw you right into it..i kno what you mean about workin at your own pace..but soon enough you'll learn where everything is at and it'll be like "why was i ever worried in the first place"...it's better work at bk then work at an actual restaurant... I used to work for a privately owned restaurant and the head cook and host were the owners.. i had to be there even on holidays for at least 10 hours a day...you have no idea how many laws that they broke...and sometimes at night you wouldn't get out until 2 in the morning..imagine washing at least 500 plates and food containers(when there were banquets) on top of that all night..plus having to take out garbage in the winter when the parking lot wasn't plowed and the dumpsters were on the other side of the lot ( i live in wi so we get a lot of snow) and cleaning the whole kitchen...yeah it was a *****..but you learn to not take any c**p..plus there was this weird convict kid who would chase us around outside and jump out of places..lol i look back at it now and i'm like why the h**l did i work there and take all of that c**p...but bk will follow the laws which is amazing even though you prob. don't care that much...and it's a job that you can always quit if worse comes to worse...GOOD LUCK AND YOU"LL DO GREAT!!!

  4. I wish I had stories to tell you. I never get hired for any frickin job not even a fast food restaurant. Talk about bad kharma.

  5. When I got my job at McDonalds 3 months ago I was thinking the exact same as you.. But you know what, I don't even have any bad stories for you!! That's how easy it was!! You'll do just fine!! Don't even worry!!
