  1. Jobs dependent on ICT (or computer technologies) are increasing, but such technologies did not increase the levels of unemployment.

There is some controversy on that but most studies (based on available statistics and qualitative analysis) confirm that most of people is using more the ICT to perform their jobs, and the employment variation depends on the overall economic situation and specially on the human resources models adopted by companies (e.g. an inadequate model - authoritarian - chosen for a company in a sector where quality demands are high can provoke serious productivity problems and possible close down of their activities).

I don't in which country you are, but every country or region have their employment services that provide information on forecasts for jobs and its qualifications needs.

  2. Computer skills have become essential in the modern work force. It is increasingly difficult for people without adequate training to find decent jobs. Older workers have skills that have become obsolete.

That is why I am training myself at home with various productivity programs to stay marketable.

As far as references. try the Department of Labor and Training. They chart industry growths and employment trends.

The Census Bureau might have statistics on the educationl level of workers and how they fit into the job market.

    Good luck with you're research.
