  1. Work study means you will have a form of a job on campus, and you are allowed to work until you have reached $3,400.  That is your allotted limit of income you can work towards.

Typically work study students are part-time making minimum wage.

  2. That means you can work and earn up to that amount of money.  The 3400 is prob your annual amount.  So you could earn half of this in the fall and half in the spring.  You will get paid just like a regular job.  The school usually cuts a check every two weeks.  Work Study money does not normally go towards your account to pay for tuition and fees because you haven't worked the hours (or even found a job yet).

Find a work study job... quick!  They usually go fast and most of the time they go to the upper class men who worked for the departments last year.  The school will not find a job for you.  This is your responsibility.  You usually work between 15 to 20 hours a week... depending on the hourly wage you are offered.
