  1. I think that a good look would be a long skirt (knee lines), long sleeves top (those with buttons that are normally wore with suits) and a jacket if its coldish. Have little earrings (only a Perl or a lil brick) and a discrete necklace. No hills.

    Hopefully that will help

  2. I did my work experience in an infants school. I just chose smart clothes, but clothes you wouldnt really mind having paint or clay or stuff like that on it. I usually went with black trousers and a top that isnt casual but isnt a best top, not too low of course! And sensible shoes, but not trainers

  3. 1) Flat shoes-more comfy and less dangerous

    2) No dangly jewellery-may get caught, more injury child.

    3) Nothing expensive as messy play is messy :)

    4) Nothing too revealing-distraction and abuse risks!

    5) smart-ish-you need to show you are authority and professional.

    Expect:

-to play and sit with children, help them with reading, spellings etc.

    -messy crafts-getting involved.

-tidy up and setting up of room

-going out to play with them

    -assemblies

-maybe some prep tasks like cutting things out for the children, hanging displays.

  4. Are You serious? Can You not consult one of Your magazines? It's hardly rocket science.

Edit: Please forgive Me for being an 'ignaramous'.

  5. You want to dress fairly smartly but not over the top.  I wouldn't wear jeans or anything low cut or too short.  Other than that it doesn't really matter.

    Have fun!

  6. Wear smart clothes, this will impress the staff that works there.. =)

  7. Dress smart but with clothes that allow movement, you'll be doing a lot of bending/crouching to child level. No heels, no jeans btw.

As for what you'll do, generally you'll be helping the teacher, helping children in small groups with reading and maths work, a bit of playground duty.

Just one thing, why are you doing work experince in a school if you have no idea what they do? Isn't the idea of work experince a cahnce to try out jobs you have interest in?

  8. trousers (not jeans) and a blouse, or nice top. Nothing that little kiddies can pull at.

  9. To start with your work experience form should state the clothing you should wear.  I would imagine it is smart casual, no jeans or trainers. You will spend a lot of time on floor level and shouldn`t worry about getting paint/glue or snot on your clothing (Been ther, done that and have the snot marks to proove it lol) You should also have been given the phone number to arrange a pre WEX chat.  This should be one of the questions you should ask.

Don`t worry.  You will not be taking any lessons.  They will probably want you to work with small groups of children under supervision, organise snack and maybe put up a few display/read to the class.  Most importantly you will need to interact with the children.

This is a good start and good info for adding to your teacher training application forms.  Well done.

  10. when i done my work experience in a school, i was told what to wear. really you should wear smart black trousers and a smart top. make sure its comftable coz ur gonna be with kids all day and dont spend to much money as it might get ruined! lol! maybe ask them what they would like you to wear.

    good luck! x
