  1. Hi!

You stick to your black trousers and blouse!

It will not have gone unnoticed that she's not adhering to the dress code, and this will probably be remembered when it comes to giving an evaluation of her work experience.

Don't dwell on HER - put all your energy into doing a good job and giving a good impression.

YOU'RE the important one here, NOT her!!

    Hope this helps!

  2. Keep doing what you are doing and you will certainly be considered to be the most professional of the two of you, especially if this is backed up by an aptitude and dispositon that suggests you are hard working, quick to learn and use your initiative whilst following guidelines in the work placement. Good luck with your work experience and enjoy yourself, do not worry about the other girl.

  3. It is always better to "Dress for the job you want, not the job you have".

Therefore, I would always go more professional than less professional. You want your employer to respect you.

  4. Plain vanilla.  Look smart but unremarkable.

  5. So you also feel like wearing jeans because you're feeling jealous that she doesn't get told off for breaking the rules ? Why bother...just stick to your own definition of appropriate clothing and make sure people at school view you as a decent person.  What you wear, how you wear, and even how you walk is a good representation of the kind of person you are.

You said you wanted to learn as much as possible from this work exp to decide on your future career, that means you need to help other people develop their perceptions about you as a motivated employee and your clothing can show it to some extent.

If you wear a sweater with even an a-line knee-length business skirt, that can make you look professional.Black trousers with white shirts seem fine too.  Don't wear t-shirts or pleated skirts.

  6. go by what the job description entails you dress like - the staff have probabaly noted what this other girl is wearing- carry on what you are wearing - just smart/casual as you probably look smarter of the two!

  7. Is it possible that the school is secretly testing both of you to see how well each of you follow the rules to set an example for the children you are teaching?  I mean, the other gal is dressing like she is going to the beach and yet, they have a rule of not wearing jeans and you are wearing that, which is more traditionally accepted in a classroom setting.

If I were you, I would continue to wear a nice pair of trousers and a nice polo shirt or blouse or a nice dress (or dress in similar clothing styles to other teachers and staff members).  I know that if I had a choice, I would probably choose someone who is professionally dressed than someone who is going to a beach or picnic, wouldn't you?

    GOOD LUCK!

  8. i would wear what your wearing. she probably doesnt look as professional as you do.
