Hello everybody. I am a french citizen, 21, with a highschool diploma. I am computer literate and bilingual. I was wondering if i could find a job in Canada. I intend to go to Canada this summer maybe next week or the next one, i do not know for how much time but i think my french passport will enable me to stay there for less than 6 months. Is it possible for me to go there and find a boss who would like to sponsor me for me to get a work permit? Will i have to come back in France to do the paper work?

  1. Sorry to break it to you but Canada already has a lot of high school graduates who are computer literate. Our immigration policy works on a points system and, sorry once more, but having only a high school diploma won't score high. If you have experience and skills in areas which Canada needs then that may help you but judging by what you've written, I'd suggest that you don't have a great deal to offer...at this point.

For you to apply to immigrate to Canada would take about 3-5 years as we are currently dealing with about 980,000 applications.

A university degree would be helpful for you but not necessarily by much. Please review http://www.cic.gc.ca very carefully. I would strongly suggest you attend university and then apply to immigrate. Companies will not hire foreign workers for a job if there is a citizen who is just as qualified. That isn't bigotry on our part as it is much the same way in most other countries.
