Work in England/Ireland?

I will go to england or ireland soon to try to work there for a month (summer job). Do i need a National insurance number to work in england for only a month or several months? (summer job) Do i need a PPS number to work in ireland for a month or several months? I think ill go to england as the eurostar is very cheap but london is very expensive. Do you think i could go to london and then go to a "cheap city" from there thaks to train, bus or whatever? If yes how much would it cost to go from london to a "cheap city"? Do you know a cheap city i could go to from london? I've been trying to find accomodation in england but i got no answer after contacting roommates on gumtree. I would like to be able to go to london from another city " a cheap one" as i heard there was a lot of work there. Where is there a lot of summer jobs in england (ill go to south england i think)? Do you know a cheap city near or not near dublin where i could get a job and cheap acomodation?

What do you wanna do as your "summer job"??? oh and regarding London having lots of work there - the streets are paved with gold too d**k whittington!

Do you want to commute everyday then? If so, theres no point trying to find a "cheap city" as you might as well stay there as there is probably as much work there as anywhere else.

Regarding needing a NI number, I doubt it, everyone seems to be able to come to this country and earn loads of money then dissappear home again!
