Work on Australia?

One of my friend will travel to Australia (Melbourne) as an international student and he has BSc in Electrical eng and will continue his education at MSc Telecommunication ,He like to know can he fine a job in Melbourne or surrounding area in his field or not ?

my younger brother's got his bachelor in Australia and has been able to get a job right after school. His major is Biochemistry and he's working in a hospital as research assistant.

He's told me that it's easier to find a job in Australia and also obtain a visa to stay longer, or even permanent residency if you have a degree or some sorts in certain fields, i.e. medical or science. I'm not sure about Telecommunication though, your friend can contact a public attorney there to find out which fields are demanded there. There is a government website to contact them for free. I did it before and did receive response.
