I want to get a job on a cruise ship but with everything I am reading online it seems pretty difficult. Anyone know of someone who works on a cruise ship and how they got the job?

  1. I'm not sure how to get started, but just wanted to point out that although it looks like a glamorous job, people who work on cruises are on call almost 24-7...they work extremely hard, and rarely get to see the ports of call.  The pay isn't much, and they spend their time waiting on people and cleaning up after slobs.  On top of that, keep in mind that they are away from their friends and family for extended periods of time.  I only say this because the last cruise I was on, I made friends with some of the staff and wound up getting to see what really goes on behind the scenes.  I don't mean to discourage you, and if you do decide to do it, I wish you the best of luck.  I just wanted to point out that even though it seems like a great way to see the world, it's not as glamorous as it seems.

  2. You always can go on the  Princess cruises and ask first hand. how do I get work on the ship,or august is coming up in two month. call you might get lucky now.

  3. this has been asked so many times on here.

Princess cruises for instance only advertise about twice a year I think April and August. I don't know about other companies. You have to be 21.

Look up cruise companies and then click on 'contact us' and ask
