Work permit in UK for waitress?

I am planning on moving to the UK in the near future, and I want to find a job as a waitress. Do you still need a work permit for that? If so, what kind?

Firstly where are you coming from?

Some countries do not need work permit.

Secondly even if you need a work permit to work in UK, you are highly unlikely to get one for waitress.

You need a work permit and a job offer before you move to the UK.  If you don't have both you will be turned round at the airport and sent back home.
