I went to the same horse camp 2 years ago, and its more like a work camp, but we still ride. we feed, water, let the horses out, clean stalls, clean tack, and we each get a pasture to care for. If its the mare or geldings pasture, 2 people go/ So i just wanted to know, do is stil remember how to do these things?

cleaning water trough- empty trough, take a soft bristled brush and rub out algie, then fill back up again

feeding-do one horse at a time, if a horse tries to steal anothers food, scold him

mucking out-for a quick one, pick out large clumps of p**p and wet bedding.

these are just the things im not too sure about. if you have any suggestions, please suggest! thanks in advanced!

I'm sure once you get there it will all come back to you.

  3. scold him?! no. don't do that. what do you mean by scold?! thats terrible. if he tries to steal another horses food just take him away from it.

  4. Sounds right to me.

Katie, it really isn't bad to scold a horse.  You have to remember that they are 1000 pound animals, you cannot have them misbehaving, they will hurt either themselves or someone else.  And that you cannot cause a horse nearly as much discomfort as they can to each other by kicking and biting.
