  1. Most Ticos work 6 days, full time M-F and then half a day on Saturday.  Call center for people who speak English can make about 2-5 USD per hour depending on experience.

  2. That is not true at all.  Actually the work week is 6 days and overtime does not begin until 48 hours are reached.  The Costa Ricans are driven and work hard.  Unfortunately the minimum wage is about $1 per hour so if you plan on only paying that much then you will not have a very qualified or motivated staff.

There are some call centers open 24 hours a day as in other popular off shore countries such as India.

  3. They may want to work only 24hrs/wk, but the reality is 48 hours, whether they want to or not.

  4. NOT ! ! !

A work week is 6 days.  The work is usually hard and for such low wages, they don't work too hard or too fast.  Better to streach the job out and make it last longer in order to earn more.
