Work without Social Security?

My Work Permit recently arrived and I have already applied for a SSN. I desperately need a Job. What should I do?

If you got your work permit you are allowed to work!!!!!!

Try to go to a SS office I don t know if they are gonna give you one right away , you may be waiting a week at least

You cannot work without the SSN.  Work permit?  If you have an employment visa, your employer had to get that for you, which means you have a job.  Are you on a dependent's visa and got authorization to work?  Or what?  Something is missing from your info here -- explain!  But you do have to wait for your SSN before you can start working.

you could try to apply for a job but you may or may not get dependng on empolyer you are screwed there !! if you have a work permit show them that and other immagration papers that your legal here and you will find a job
