Question:

Workaholic?

I lately seem to enjoy doing school work more than going out with people. I'm studying for college and all, but I do get worried when I see how sad I am when leaving all that chemistry aside in order to go into the real world.

Should I worry?

  1. I think the fact that you notice the change in attitude shows you've got a healthy perspective on things. Sometimes you have to overdo some areas, like studying for college, for a while to make progress in life. Also, you may be more introverted than you realize, and if so, then having time to yourself (and studying during that time) is very relaxing and energizing to you. That's not unhealthy--some people are just that way. Other people recharge by going out and being around other people. There's no right or wrong way in that--it's just personal preference. It's an innate difference between people. Do what you need to do to achieve your goals and feel good about yourself.

  2. In the long run all that study will pay off and you'll have a good career and all that goes with it. It's really a matter of weighing up what's more important partying as a Teenager or having the stability later on to have what you want and enjoy life to the fullest then rather than a year or two now.

  3. well right now i am the same why and i am kinda wondering the same thing.

  4. nope don't  be worried ,..you found your passion ,learn..., explore... ,create..., fun times will come when you are ready for them ...

  5. No worries ....

The distinction between "work" and "play" is not real ... the best of all worlds is when our work becomes our play.

You've found what fascinates you, captivates you and inspires you ... go with it.

Joseph Campbell said, "Follow your bliss."

You've found yours. Go for it.

  6. maybe. but at the same time, school is really important and maybe you just subconciously know that. you could join a group on campus, or at least associate yourself with one.
