Question:

Workers Comp insurance rates?

Hi I am thinking of starting a supported living agency. I am wondering if anyone can give me a REALLY ROUGH estimate of what it would cost in workers comp insurance. Basically my employees would be working with disabled clients provider personal support to them (ie taking to doctor appointment, helping cook, personal hygiene, etc). Can anyone help me figure what it might possible cost?

  1. Yep, a local agent.  The RATE, is based on exactly what they are doing (if they do more than one thing, like driving, and cooking, it's the highest rated class), and how much the payroll is.  I'd guess, roughly, you're probably going to pay about 15% of payroll, for workers comp.

Home health aids have a lot of back issues - they do a lot of lifting.

But your general liability and auto liabiltiy might be higher than that.
