  1. Here are some key differences.

    1. Window - Noiser

Split - quite since the machine is external and the sound is not carried in by the blowing air.

    2. Window - Bulky and sticks out like a soar thumb in a any beautifully designed interior

Split - Fashinable and can be easily blended in the interior

    3. Window - Take you space in the wall which can otherwise be used for hanging paintings and something.

Split - Can be neatly suspended on the cieling in any side of the room since it does not require a window or opening to blow out the hot air.

    4. Window - Maintenance is a nightmare since the unit has to be pulled out of the window to get to the machinery. This gets messy.

Split - The machinery is easily accessible since it is a seperate unit.

    5. Window - The birds love to create nests in  the back of the unit, especially in mumbai, the dripping water from the unit is perfect attraction the birds and the warmth provides a comfort feeling and before you know it birds have a nest in the back of the unit and causing havoc each day. The nest eventually stops the water flow outwards and the water tray fills up and start backing into the room through the sides of the unit. I have lived through one so I know.

Split - They can make the nest on the unit but can be easily cleaned out since the unit is more accessible then a window unit and no water issues since the blower inside the room does not generate water condensation.

So for all the extra money it is worth the price.

  2. split ac is the one whic can be placed anywher in the room .. but the source for it is taken from outside only... the window ac s are kept in windows.. it takes air from outside the window.. and gives out the hot air out of the window... the window ac is more big and bulkier.. it is outdated also... window ac costs less than split.. but all prefer split only... split can be designed in various ways and hence they look better than window ac s...

  3. Most window AC units are 110 volt. This is more expensive to operate than a central AC system that is operated on 220 volt. It is also more pleasing to the eye since you don't see the unit hanging out the window.

  4. split reduce Electrically speaking, comparing a window unit and a split system, each must be of the identical BTU value and SEER rating, the electrical operating costs should be the same. also split reduce noise...........
