How hard is it to get a working holiday visa in Aus? i am from canada so i know they have the deal to do it. Is it tough to find work? Also im not a big fan of the staying in a hostel with 3 or 4 other random people. i would probably be going with one other person so i was wondering if there are places where i could rent a 2 bed place for a month, maybe like an apartment or whatever aslong as the bedroom is private well 2 beds is fine for me and my friend. i would like the apartment idea more if it would be possible for a somewhat reasonable price,,,so any ideas?? please help also if you know what kinda price it would be for a month apartment rental..

thanks

  1. Hey,

Come to Rockhampton in Queensland.. Plenty of work in this city, and lots of things to see, 20 minutes from the beach. It's nice.

Lots and lots of places to stay as well.

  2. Austarlia is a huge and diverse country.  So the answer to your question would depend on where in Austarlia you were intending to go, and what type of work you were after.

Some of the back packers in the resort areas stay at the resort as part of their pay, and move from resort town to resort town.  Others might prefer the outback experience, and would work on a cattle farm or fruit pick.

Both of these are great ways to see the country as you work.

If you plan to stay in one place then try to find out the name of the local real estate agents in that area and email them for an idea of the type of accommodation available for short term.

www.realestate.com.au is a general site that could help.

I know that some people even buy a cheap van and live in a caravan park during their stay here.

It's all a bit of a personal preference really.  But if you do come here, make sure that you get to know some of the locals as just like any other country tourists are easy prey for some unscrupulous operators.  Most locals are very much 'fair go' type people and they will look after you if you are friendly and genuine.

    Enjoy your adventure.

  3. It's not hard to apply for a working visa for Australia :)

As long as you pass the requirements and have sufficient funds. You can check out the requirements here http://www.nationalvisas.com.au/working/... I think you need to pass their online assessment to be eligible to apply for a working holiday visa.

For renting apartments, it depends on where you want to stay in Australia. You can search for apartments here http://realestate.ozfreeonline.com

    Good luck!
