  1. Yes, if you hold an American passport, you are qualified to apply for Holiday Visa.

You should be under 30 years old. Good Luck!

  2. Working Holiday Visa programs are reciprocal agreements between two countries. I am almost positive such an agreement does not exist between the the United States and Japan, so that means no such option is available to Americans.

You can find a little more information about the countries Japan has working Visa agreements from either the Japanese Consulate or Embassy near you or the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs homepage (http://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/w_hol...

  3. Japan has Working holday visa treaty with only 9 countries,

Australia, New Zealan, Canada, S. Korea, France, GBR, German, Ireland and Denmark. Not with USA.

  4. Unfortunately no, they're not.

The working holiday visa is for citizens of Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the Republic of Korea, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Denmark.

You can read about "The Working Holiday Programmes in Japan"  here:

    http://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/w_hol...

You may want to try coming on an General Visa for Cultural Activities.

"Academic or artistic activities that provide no income, activities for the purpose of pursuing specific studies on Japanese culture or arts, or activities for the purpose of learning and acquiring skills in Japanese culture or arts under the guidance of experts (for example, ikebana, tea ceremony, judo, etc.)."

Otherwise as an American, you can only stay in Japan for 90 days or less.

    Take a look here:

    http://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/...

You can check out the types of visas here:

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  5. Sorry, Japan does not have a Working Holiday Visa agreement with the USA. Only the following five countries do:  Australia, the UK, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand.

This means that Americans can only enter Japan on this Visa if they become a citizen of the countries listed above.

To qualify for this Visa you must be between 18 and 30 years of age.

  6. NO, the working holiday visa is not offered to Americans. We do get a 3 month visitors visa without any preparation or fees. It is stamped into your passport once you arrive in Japan.  I lived in Japan for 6 years.  Feel free to ask any more questions.
